Description

Decisions about our data are being made on a daily basis, sometimes by humans and sometimes by computers. It’s vital that patient and public voices are heard in this rapidly changing and often confusing landscape. This workshop will give you the information you need to start to play an informed role in the conversation.

Who can access data about our health?

What types of technology could make a positive difference to people?

How can we use different types of information for the public good?

These are vital questions for people making decisions in our local health and care system, right now. Questions that need the support of informed, critical friends.

For: public contributors who are currently involved in health research and/or improving services in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.

What: A day-long workshop to give an overview of how digital technology and data are being used to change health and care.

  • Hear from local experts
  • Discuss the risks and benefits of making greater use of data and technology for health
  • Get familiar with the concepts, debates and resources available to contribute to this vital topic for our health, care and society.

This first of its kind pilot session will be run by Bristol Health Partners and People in Health West of England.

Expenses: Attendees will be eligible to claim reasonable travel expenses for this session.
